nature's torch


This is the flower of the red ginger plant. Strictly speaking though, this is not the true flower but just a series of overlapping bracts. The true flowers are really small and white and are covered by the bracts.

Anyway, I called this photo, "nature's torch" because of the way the bracts are arranged. I was tempted to add some motion blur to make it appear like a real torch but I thought it's better to share first its natural appearance. Maybe I'll add the motion blur in another post.
